Fadhil Chalabi, Promoting Privatisation of Iraq Oil
Al Ghad is publishing a curious piece of publicity to force the Draft Oil Law through Iraq Parliament which is still unable to have a quorum, of a minimum of 138 MPs.
This publicity is made by a letter dated 10 July, 07, written by Dr Fadhil Chalabi, Executive Director of Centre For Global Energy Studies, London, (www.cges.co.uk). The letter a reply to a letter, 5 July, 07 by Shekh, Dr. Khalid Attyia, Deputy chair man of Iraq Parliament, and effectively the real head of Parliament. Dr Attyia in his letter inquired about the nature of Production Sharing Contracts in Iraq (PSC).
Dr FJ Chalabi’s Letter is now being distributed among members of Parliament to persuade them to vote for the Draft Oil Law. An official of Dr Chalabi’s office (Penelope Forbes, PA to F Chalabi) sent a copy of the letter to Mr Fouad Al Amir, under a title “Open Letter to the Iraqi Parliament”. Having read the letter which he had not solicited, Mr Al Amir was shocked by its content of open marketing, and gross distortion of fact about the Production Sharing Contracts, and the heated attempts to grab Iraq’s Oil Reserves.. Al Ghad is pleased to publish his comments on the subject.
